But for this cost. . . it depends on what you want.
I tested this compared to a WRT160N with RangeMax and the WRT160N beat the range of this device. But then again, the WRT160N is more expensive and I never tested the N speeds.

I bought this router to replace an older Belkin router that was having reliability issues.
This router is stable and seems to work just fine. Performance is good, and it has yet to crash after several weeks of up-time (unlike my old Belkin, which crashed almost daily). I use the TrendNet with many network devices: two PCs, a printer, a Mac, a Netflix box, an iPhone. None of them have issues with this router.
HOWEVER: “automatic printer discovery” on my local LAN disappeared when I swapped out my old Belkin with this new router. My computer could no longer locate my network printer. I found I had to disable the router’s “WAN Multicast firewall setting” to get “LAN Multicast” to work, fixing the “printer discovery” issue. This caused me hours of frustration. It would undoubtably cause a lot of frustration to most users. Hopefully a firmware update will fix this problem soon.
So, if you can work out such issues, this router is for you. If not, go with another well-respected brand.
Conclusion: 2 stars, because most people would never figure out how to resolve the network printer issue.

Recently I switched to cable ISP from DSL. Unfortunately they did not give me a modem with wireless router built-in, so I decided to buy one for myself. I thought if I am buying I might as well get the wireless-n router. I found this one cheap and bought it.
I was able to connect my desktop directly to it via ethernet cable without any issues. I was also able to hook up my laptop with wireless-g built in without any issues. But when I tried to connect my wireless-n laptop with it, it just won’t connect at more than 300 kbps!!! This router has a rating of 300 Mbps for wireless-n devices. I would accept a downshift to 100Mbps or to wireless-g speeds when my other laptop is connected, but less than 1 Mbps is ridiculous. And regardless of where I put my laptop from the router, same floor, different floor, without couple of feet, just the same results. I even forced it to use only wireless b and g (kind of turned off n), but the results were the same.
The other major issue I found with this router is that it heats up really bad. I have even stuck the 4 tiny little pads that came with it underneath, and am keeping it on solid surface, but it remains hot. I am afraid it might burn or catch fire because of the unusually high amounts of heat it generates. The only way around this issue that I could find is by resting its back on the wall, so that it makes about 45 degrees angle from the floor to the wall. Then only it does not get too hot.
All in all there seems to be something majorly wrong with its design. I am taking it back to the store where I bought it from.

It has been three weeks since I installed this router. It has good range, connection never drops. The start up time is about 10 seconds for the router. Comes with a good easy to use router administration menu interface. Here some of you may need to call support if you get confused with some of the router terms while installing. However customer support are very knowledgeable and helpful. I still like my old Actiontec router for ease of setup and administration, but unfortunately they do not have stand alone wireless router. The only thing is of concern to me is that this router gets very hot, so much that I unplug when I go out of the house and in night. I have kept router in such a way that(difficult to explain here) that it has minimum contact with carpet or wood. I did mention this to manufacturer as well but they assured me that there has been no accidents. Otherwise very happy with the quality of this product.

I had to resort to MAC filtering as one of my wireless devices did not support security encryption. To my surprise, the MAC Filtering on this device only means it would not allow other devices (i.e. devices not in the MAC table) from accessing the Internet. But they can access my network and access any of the devices already on my network. I found this out only because one of my neighbors’ device requested to share my media library. On further investigation found that they were connected to my router even tough they were not in the MAC table. This is scary and if you plan to use the router with similar setup, stay away from this router. This is not even documented anywhere though if you look at the help (from the router’s admin/setup page), it mentions something similar but not very clear. The tech support was also not aware of this and wanted me to reset the device and start all over again. If it has happened once, I am not going to risk using this device even if reset does the trick.
Another thing that surprised me while using MAC filter was, even hard wired machines to this device needs to be added to the MAC table to access Internet. This though not a big problem is not documented.
